Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – KM 104 – WIÑAY WAYNA – SUN GATE – MACHU PICCHU

Experience the ultimate Machu Picchu adventure starting with an early morning pick-up from your Cusco hotel at 4 am. Relax in private transportation to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll board the train at 6:10 am, enjoying scenic views and breakfast en route. Arriving at Km104, begin your trek at 2,000 meters above sea level, crossing the Urubamba River and passing through a checkpoint. Ascend through diverse microclimates, including cloud forests, to discover a serene waterfall and reach Wiñay Wayna, ancient Inca ruins nestled in lush jungle at 2,600 meters. After a gourmet lunch surrounded by tropical flora, continue to the Sun Gate for your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu.

Descend towards the citadel, exploring more Inca sites along the way and arriving in the afternoon to capture iconic photos in the soft light. Head to Aguas Calientes by bus, check into your hotel, and enjoy a delicious dinner. Reflect on your unforgettable day with a relaxing stroll through town or a visit to the soothing hot springs.

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Embark on an unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu starting with an early breakfast before catching a scenic bus ride up to witness the sunrise over the ancient citadel. A knowledgeable guide will lead a two-hour tour, showcasing the most significant features of Machu Picchu. After exploring and capturing the exceptional views, descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch and optional activities like shopping or visiting the museum or hot springs.

Later, board the Expedition train from Aguas Calientes, offering spectacular views along the Urubamba River as you return to Ollantaytambo. From there, a private vehicle awaits to comfortably transport you back to Cusco, concluding a day of awe-inspiring exploration and cultural immersion at Machu Picchu.
